December 12 2015 marks a very special day in entertainment history – it is the 100th anniversary of “The Chairman of the Board’s” birthday. On this day in 1915, Francis Albert Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey to immigrant parents from Genoa and Palermo respectively, “Dolly” and “Marty” Sinatra. He began his music career with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, went on to work with Billy May, Nelson Riddle , Quincy Jones amongst others such as Alex Stordahl.He left Capitol to start his own record company, Reprise Records and became one of the most popular and influential artistes of the 20th Century. Not only a singer,interpreter and performer that remains currently COOL to this day, Frank Sinatra went on to star in and direct many successful movies. In 1953 he was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in his role as Private Angelo Maggio in “From Here To Eternity”. Building up to a special two hour DRIVETIME show on December 11th which will cover his career in depth(as much as two hours allows), this weeks “A Taste of Honey” lets Frank take you travelling around the world from New York to London, Chicago to Brazil, Vermont to Paris , Mandalay to New Zealand and a few places in between.
