A Taste Of Honey July 30 2015
COLLABORATIONS – the coming together of talent whether it be vocal and instrumental, two vocalists, songwriter and interpreter or various other combinations, the results are for the most part greater than the sum of the parts – from the timeless duets of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong (pic.centre) to the combination of the “old” master Tony Bennett and the unique talent of Amy Winehouse (pic.left).
Choosing the songs and artistes is a pleasurable task and far from easy – the breadth of recordings is truly overwhelming and one could do a weekly program of musical collaborations.
The tracks chosen this week span artistes and recordings from the 50’s to the second decade of the 21st century and they include Herbie Hancock and Angelique Kidjo, Hilary Kole and Hank Jones, Eydie Gorme and Steve Lawrence, Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa, Natalie Cole and Arturo Sandoval and more.
Latin tracks to The Great American Songbook with POP thrown in to complete the circle of sound.
For the full track list/details please go to the program guide on the homepage after the program airs and follow the prompts to this and previous Tastes Of Honey and all the other Eastside programmes and listen at your leisure.
