A Taste Of Honey June 7 2012
I have gone back and looked at the folk roots of great music and the movement started in Britain in the early 60’s and then progressed across the Atlantic-Sandy Denny(pi.left)in addition to being the voice of Fairport Convention was in a short time(she died in tragic circumstances at 31)a talented songwriter who also gave us songs such as ‘Who Knows Where The Time Goes’ and influenced the likes of Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins with her vocal style-and when you listen to ANY version of ‘Feeling Good’ would you believe that Anthony Newley(pic right with Joan Collins and Connie Kreski) wrote it?-he, who wrote ‘Once In a Lifetime’ and ‘Who Can I Turn To?’ with Lesley Bricusse among many others-and how good is ‘Urge for Going’ by Tom Rush?-so much great music and only 90mins a week!!!!!!!but worth the squeeze and preparation-more next week-and some more folk music !!!!
