RIP Donna Summer(pic.left)who not only gave us all the HUGE disco hits but proved that on her day she was a really credible singer and her first album for Geffen records proved that beyond a doubt….maybe lacked the commerciality of ‘Bad Girls’ but the songs and her delivery are clear MUSICAL evidence of her talent……..RIP Robin Gibb whose joint vocals and songwriting with brother Barry is something that is unique to sibling collaboration ….and RIP Donald “Duck” Dunn,bass guitarist,session musician,producer and songwriter notable for his 60’s recordings with Booker T and The M.G.’s and as session bassist for Stax Records..a sad week in music…’UP’ sounds this week to finish on with Louis Prima and Keely Smith(pic rt)
