A Taste of Honey May 31 2012

Unfortunately I did not know Wally Wrightman for long but in the short time I knew him,he inspired me with his stories and love for music of all types-he had a passion for both Alan Price(pic right) and Georgie Fame as fellow jazz musos and we discussed their musical roots from blues pop to jazz many times-  Phil James from ‘Monday Jammin’ turned me on to fellow Kiwi, Whirimako  Black(pic left)who in addition to writing and producing music for film and TV in her traditional Maori language has put together a great album of standards that I highly recommend-and it fits today’s playlist perfectly that also includes  Emma Pask and Sally Cameron(The Idea of North)-and how good is Shawn Colvin’s cover of ‘Every Little Thing (he)Does is Magic’……….
