A Taste Of Honey November 29 2012

I went to see ‘Skyfall’ and smiled to myself as who would have thought that back in 1962 we would still be  be going to James Bond movies and enjoying them just as much – and part of the magic is that the producers get the meaning of keeping core audiences and growing new ones which is evidenced by the fact that they contracted the worlds most successful female recording star of the 21st century Adele to write and sing the title song which is an opening feature- Ms Barbra Streisand’s new album ‘Release Me’ features songs by Jimmy Webb,Randy Newman,Antonio Carlos Jobim together with some personal versions of Broadway tracks, all of which have never been released until now and the arrangements, vocal performances and musicians are an absolute pleasure to listen to- and Kurt Elling’s new album is just perfect with some very adventurous jazz versions  from ‘1619 Broadway-The Brill Building Project’- music to motivate oneself with – much more next week…
