A Taste Of Honey November 5 2015

 Im very excited that two of my favourite artistes are coming to Australia – Ms Rhiannon    Giddens and Mr Jackson Browne.(pictured left) –  I have  already got my tickets safely stored. Both very different , with very different musical backgrounds.

Jackson Browne is the epitome of contemporary American Popular music, entrenched deeply in the West Coast sound that started in the late 60’s and has continued to flourish into the 21st Century.

Rhiannon Giddens comes from a folk,spiritual Americana background with one of the most amazing voices of her time. In addition to these two artistes, this week’s show combines music from k.d.lang, Robert Glasper featuring Erykah  Badu, Quincy Jones featuring Ibrahim Ferrer and Omara Portuondo, Donovan, Roberta Flack, Joni Mitchell  and many more, performing their own compositions and interpreting songs by Lennon/McCartney, Rogers and Hart, Bob Dylan PLUS, PLUS –  A little back story about impresario David Geffen and the everlasting impact he has on the entertainment business – but as always “ITS ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC” and again I’m challenged by time – what tracks do i leave out of this weeks programme ? which when road tested walking in the rain just cried out to be continued…….. -seamless tracks for all for your Thursday morning listening pleasure….to be continued ………….
