AFTRS Open Short Courses

AFTRS Open, the short course division of the Australian Film Television Radio School , offers short courses for adults year-round and has school holiday courses for kids & teenagers from 9-17 years.

Based in state-of-the-art facilities at the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, AFTRS Open has introductory and advanced Film, TV and Radio courses for adults throughout the year as well as 5 day intensive Summer School Courses next January.

If you want to keep the kids busy during the School Holidays, the School still has spots in its courses for teens in Filmmaking, Screenwriting and Game Design this September. Plus if you like to book ahead,  they have a heap of courses for both kids and teens in Film, Radio, Animation, Game Design and Screen Acting during December and January.

HSC Video Intensive (15-17′s)

A 3 day workshop that gives you the camera and writing skills to help tackle an HSC Video project.

Writing a Short Film (15-17′s)
2- 4 October
Learn how to write compelling storylines, engaging characters and action

DECEMBER / JANUARY SCHOOL HOLIDAY COURSES

There’s a host of courses for kids and teens during the summer holidays – both popular favourites and exciting new courses.

KIDS: For 9 – 12 year olds there’s Make a Stop Motion Movie, the popular AFTRS Film Club, the all new Stage Combat for Film plus Kids Digi Animation.

TEENS: There are also  lots of courses for 13 – 17 year olds including: The Real Filmmaking Workshop, the all new How to Shoot a Zombie Movie the popular Teens Digital Animation and Intro to Game Design. For budding actors we have Screen Acting and if radio’s your thing there’s Summer School Radio.

And if you book at least 28 days in advance you’ll get a 10% Early Bird Discount.
