Ala Paredes

Tune in to 89.7 East Side FM or Listen online at 6pm tonight for a chat with Filipino visual artist, Ala Paredes, who vowed to create one self-portrait a day for 365 days.

Inspired by the concept of “beginner’s mind”, Ala discovered the nature of creative inspiration through discipline and repetition. As the year went on, Ala’s portraits changed and evolved, sometimes roughly sketched on a square inch of cardboard, sometimes painted on a crisp piece of A3, her style transformed through literally hundreds of works which are now being exhibited at Gaffa Gallery from October 31st.
