Album of the Week – ‘Rules of Attraction’ by Tim Rodgers and the Bamboos
‘Rules of Attraction‘ by Tim Rodgers and the Bamboos is Eastside Radio’s Album of the Week.
A soul and blues explosion, the release see’s each artist bring out the best in each other’s artistry and presenters a luscious and robust soundscape for fans and music lovers alike. The history alone between these two forces of nature within the soul funk and rock pop world is a juicy enough hook on it’s own but the musicality is really what we all came to hear. Opening with a bang is the anthemic ‘S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’ featuring a strong beat held throughout the entire track and supported by a robust brass section, an echoing and meaty chorus line and handclaps to match. ‘Did I Wake You’ sees a raspy duet between Rodgers and fellow vocalist Kylie Aldist laying a lovers story of dirty laundry out in the open, angered on the surface but saddened at its core through the addition of violins on this track. ‘You Can’t Kill a Man Twice’ is weighted with a blues rock vibe, signature to that of Rodgers and tempered by the undercurrent of organ running throughout the track curtesy of The Bamboos. The album features Tim Rodgers, Lance Ferguson, John Castle, Kylie Aldist, Graeme Pogson, Yuri Pavlinov, Luke Saunders, Ross Irwin, Phillip Noy, Anton Delecca, Aarron Barnden, and Blair Harris.
