An Inspirational Program

Deborah Burdett and Amanda Solomon and the Arterie Program

Deborah Burdett and Amanda Solomon and the Arterie Program

On Arts Thursday, 3 July 2014, three guests spoke about the inspiring Arterie Program at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Camperdown.

Margaret Lazar, Program Manager at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Deborah Burdett and Amanda Solomon who between them have a background in arts, health, education and community work, tell us about the ‘Arterie’ program, designed to engage cancer patients in art programs as they undertake treatment at the Lifehouse, the newly opened cancer care centre that focuses on integrative therapies in the treatment of cancer.

This program, including art and craft projects and a lecture series exploring the benefits of art health relationships, is designed to help to ease the pain, fatigue and stress of treatments, which impact both the patient and their families.

Tune into Arts Thursday with Maisy Stapleton, 10:30am ‘til noon every fortnight for an in-depth, informative and inspirational program.
