Armchair Traveller at The Ruby Review

Meagan Fitton recently attended The Ruby Review, a burlesque sort of cabaret show.  Keen to go along, she discovered that not only was the entertainment on stage – during this particular show – entertainment was also provided by an awkward member of the audience who didn’t understand the show and things got a little exciting when he stormed out of the theatre.

It just proved that even though burlesque is gaining popularity and could almost be accepted as mainstream dance and entertainment – it still affects audiences in a number of ways and it’s still not all together clear what burlesque is, here in Australia today.

On Armchair Traveller, Wednesday May 11th [repeated May 25th] we look at burlesque and indeed, featured burlesque event; The Ruby Review at Sydney’s beautiful ArtHouse.
