Arts Monday August 19th – The Multi-Platform Special

Multi-Platform, Transmedia, Cross-Platform – all screen industry buzz words at the moment. But what actually is it? Watching movies online? Webisodes? Apps?

We’ll hear from three Multi-Platform specialists who will share with Eastside what Multi-Platform Stories are, and what inspires them to create them: Nathan Anderson, Ester Harding and all the way from New York City – the inspirational Jeff Gomez.

Anderson-NathanNathan Anderson – founder of  Envelop Entertainment a multiplatform production house with clients and partners including NBC Universal, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Screen Australia, ScreenNSW, Southern Star, SLR Productions and Hoodlum Active; creating games and transmedia across emerging platforms.

Nathan’s work includes Precinct/13 for NBC/Universal a transmedia project completed for NBC Universal owned Foxtel Channel, 13th Street earlier this year. The project combined broadcast, online, mobile, social, print and outdoor platforms to engage audiences in a three week interactive murder mystery.

Ester-Harding

Ester Harding – All Media Producer. Producing the online interactive documentary After Six Four (SBS) for Freehand. For Firelight Productions / 6ixty Foot Films she produced Storm Surfers 3D (winning Interactive Producer of the Year at the SPAA Awards, 2012). In mid 2012, Ester joined Media Stockade to line-produce The Surgery Ship (SBS) and feature documentary I Am A Girl, and to develop a slate for all media delivery.

The all-media Producer has the ability not only to raise money, but also to create champions for their work and build an audience from the very outset. Taking advantage of emerging platforms to create genuine narrative extensions of storyworlds, it has never been so true that a Producer must be the bridge between art, technology and money.
