Sympoiesis with installation environmentalist Kevina-Jo Smith and eco-poet Gabby Florek
Take some time out of the city and go for a rainforest walk in Blue Mountains to enjoy fresh air, sounds of birds, and numerous art installations that are currently on view as part of the Sculpture at Scenic World exhibition (until 2nd May). Amongst them, if you look up and not just straight ahead of you, you will spot a wonderful installation made of recycled rubbish by artist and environmentalist Kevina-Jo Smith who was our guest on the show on 29th March and spoke about the work in details. You can listen to it here.
On the same show, Ira was joined in the studio by poet Gabby Florek who shared some of her eco-poetry and spoke to the task of translating the enormity of environmental issues into a minute form such as poetry.
In between the conversations, we played filed recordings and music composed with sounds of nature. Amongst others, we featured this album by Australian composer and sound artist Gail Priest.
