Two very different exhibitions concentrate on the myriad of ways artists have approached the depiction of objects, one through photography, the other, the Still Life genre.

Jane Raffan interviews AGNSW staff Dr Georgina Cole (Photography Programs Coordinator) and Jade Williamson (Assistant Curator in the Australian art department) about ‘Joy Before the Object’ and ‘Still Life’.

The conversation is an in-depth look at the treatment of ‘the object’ – convergences and disparate approaches – by local and international practitioners over the last century.
