You won’t be able to leave town after tuning in to this week’s Arts Thursday!

There’s such a dazzling array of performances, talks, symposiums, events, parties, gatherings, eat-ins, get-togethers, networking and learning opportunities, enjoyment and entertainment of every description on offer through some of Sydney’s best-loved and established festivals and special focus weeks.

To help you choose what to see and do in the next few months join me, Maisy Stapleton, on Arts Thursday 27 August from 10:30 – noon in conversation with:

  • DR MANDY KRETZSCHMAR, Executive Officer of the History Council of NSW, about HISTORY WEEK, 5 – 13 September 2015 –with its theme this year War, Nationalism and Identity, which probes the way we commemorate and celebrate the Anzac Centenary and provides plenty of opportunities to further examine and learn about our past.
  • SYDNEY FRINGE FESTIVAL Director, KERRI GLASSCOCK, who will help to navigate the stupendous array of cultural events – from comedy to a silent dinner party – that are uniting under the banner of the Fringe Festival, now in its 6th year and running from 1 – 30 September.
  • JOHN O CALLAGHAN, urban planner and a co-director of the SYDNEY ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL, in a ‘long weekend’ of design and architecture inspired activities for kids, the community, creative professionals and those making decisions about our built environment.
