Arts Wednesday: Art Meets Science

This week’s show features interviews with the curators of two new exhibitions at the newly relaunched galleries of what used to be COFA, but now is UNSW Art and Design School.

First up I talk to Dr John McGhee, co-curator of Body Image, which features 3D and CGI works from both scientists and artists. Then I speak with Professor Jill Bennett, curator of Amnesia Lab, an exhibition which explores amnesia from both artistic an scientific points of view. Both exhibitions look upon art as a possible therapeutic tool for patients. Both, I must tell you, are absolutely absorbing!

The attached image comes from one of the installations by Drew Berry, commissioned by Bjork, to visualise her own DNA for her song Hollow. This is one of the songs about memory and science I will be playing.
