ARTS WEDNESDAY 10 AUGUST 2011

This week we complete our current series of Sydney By Design with Ed Lippmann. As promised we will review the review of Barangaroo just published and for this, we will be joined in the studio by Chris Johnson, distinguished architect who served on the jury of the original competition and was deputy to Paul Keating in the original design review panel appointed by then Planning Minister Kristina Keneally.

My special guest this week is very talented artist Isidro Blasco who is in Sydney for two important projects. He is one of the artists invited to participate in the Laneways projects of Art and About, commencing September and he is also opening a solo show at Dominick Mersch Gallery at Danks Street Waterloo. Isidro originally comes from Spain but now calls New York home. His art combines hard-edged architectural features with the whi msy of dioramas and outstanding photography. I really do look forward to our conversation!

Music this week will pay tribute to Isidro’s homes: Spain and New York.

As always, I look forward to your company!
