First interview up this week, at about 10:40am, is the last of the interviews I recorded in Europe. I spoke to Australian born but Paris-based pianist, David Selig and French soprano , Ingrid Perrouche, who entertained us at one of several bespoke concerts for our group. We discussed the nature of the relationship between a singer and accompanist in recital. I also recorded two items from their shoe which I’ll play for you.
Second guest, at about 11:00 am is Dr Jason Johnston, linguist at the University of Sydney and I enlisted his assistance in unravelling the program/programme debate, unleashed by Prime Minister Abbott’s preference for the latter spelling.
At about 11:20 I’ll be pleased to introduce you all to Cazzbo Johns, who came into the studio with her sousaphone and played it as well as talked about this amazing instrument!
Music today follows the theme of words and music suggested by the interviews of the morning.
Do join me!
