Arts Wednesday 17 July 2013

In the first half hour, I will play you an interview I recorded while I was in the town of Montauban inFrance recently. Florent Gasset from the tourist office and our guide, Amelie Nero, braved all sorts of language difficulties to tell me about the history of this very lovely town.

At 11:00 am I will play in interview I recorded with baritone Morgan Pearse, who makes a welcome return to Arts Wednesday. Morgan has just completed a Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music in London, where he has won a swag of competitions, as his career hurtles ahead. He is briefly in Sydney to perform the title role in the Britten opera, Owen Wingrave at Carriageworks next month.

Music will be a mixed bag: French for the first half hour, then we’ll hear Morgan sing and in the last half hour, other opera performers singing from the popular repertoire.

Please join me!
