Join me, Jane Raffan, for a Rave about Red!

I’ll be interviewing Dr Judith Philp, Senior Curator at the Macleay Museum, University of Sydney. We’ll be chatting about some of the plot lines in the new exhibition: The Quest for Red: Trade and Experiment.

Yes, plots, and plotting!  Trade, piracy, war, espionage, exploration and international intrigue are all brought into play at the Macleay Museum in this exhibition, which explores the ways humans have exploited pigments, people and habitats to make the colour red.

And the music will follow cue. I’ll be playing jazz that has traded influences from the Middle East, Cuba and the Americas; world music that evokes the tenor of the ancient world and the New World of the late 15th century, through to contemporary exponents with Latin references.

I’ll continue presenting Arts Wednesday over the next 3 weeks while Sylvia Rosenblum is away. And don’t forget, we have a new start time of 10:30am.
