ARTS WEDNESDAY 19 JANUARY 2013

This morning we commence a new series with Laila Ellmoos, historian with the City of Sydney history unit and over the coming weeks, Laila will take us on a tour of landmark sites in the vicinity of Paddington Town Hall, our Eastside home. Laila starts the series with

Waste Not by Song Dong

the Paddington Reservoir Garden, just across the street.

At 11:00 am, I’ll play an interview I recorded with Bridget Smyth, Director of the Design Team at the City of Sydney. Bridget talks about the Art and Bars walking tours in the Sydney CBD, another very innovative initiative from the city council.

At around 11:20, we’ll hear from Lisa Havilah, CEO of Carriageworks, who talked to me about Waste Not, the truly extraordinary art installation by Chinese artist Song Dong and currently showing in the foyer of Carriageworks for Sydney Festival.

Music will follow my guests and their subjects: we’ll start with water, stay with liquids but move on to the alcoholic kind and end up in China! In all, an eclectic mix.

Do join me!
