ARTS WEDNESDAY 19 MAY 2010

Bliss Jensen joins me as usual at about 9:45 am for Now Showing and at 10:10 am approximately I will be talking to Ed Lippmann on the phone from Shanghai. This is his last episode of Sydney By Design for the current series and we wanted to make it something special, but we didn’t actually think it would be this special. He has been invited by the Australian government to attend the opening of Expo with Simon Crean and then to speak at a sustainability conference in Beijing and Tangshan. Certainly a lot to talk about!

My special guest this week is Sarah Thornton, in Sydney for the Sydney Writers’ Festival. We will have a conversation about the world of contemporary art, the subject of her book Seven Days in the Art World. It is a most interesting read and I do look forward to meeting her.

Sarah originally hails from Canada and now lives in London, so music this week will be by mostly Canadian musicians + some from UK.
