ARTS WEDNESDAY 2 JUNE 2010
Bliss Jensen will be in the studio once more at about 9:45 am for Now Showing and at 10:10 am I will be pleased to welcome back to Arts Wednesday Tracy le Cornu, who will be presenting Investing in Art for this series, standing in for Anna Groden. Tracy is now an art specialist at Menzies auctioneers and this should be an interesting view into the world of art investment.
I am very excited about my special guest this week, Jess Scully. Jess is the Artistic Director of Creative Sydney, due to open on Friday this week as part of Vivid. Jess has such an interesting history of commitment to creativity and creative ideas over a range of disciplines, she really is awe – inspiring!
Music this week has been inspired by (yet another) CD I received this week – a new one by Regina Carter called Reverse Thread, where she takes traditional African folk songs and gives them a contemporary jazz interpretation. The result is amazing! I’ll also play some more Regina Carter + some other African music.
As always, I look forward to your company.
