ARTS WEDNESDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2010

Jonathan James will join us for Now Showing at about 9:45 am and I think by now we know that Jonathan will review something quite unexpected! At 10:10 am Andrew Shapiro will be back to present New Antiques and promised to take us to Italy this week – or was it Germany? We’ll soon find out!

My special guest this week is Tracy Bradford, Curator of Manuscripts at the State Library of NSW and she is going to talk about The Governor, the current exhibition at the library, about the life of Governor Macquarie. As usual, the exhibition is just very rich with original manuscripts, which give such an immediate picture of the man and his times while making you feel very humble just to be standing in front of them! It is an absorbing story and I do look forward to our conversation.

Last week I started a series of shows featuring a single instrument – violin – and this week I continue with the flute.

As always, I look forward to your company!
