ARTS WEDNESDAY

Arts Wednesday 28 August 2013

At about 10:40 am, I am joined by Lisa Havilah, Director of Carriageworks to talk about the announcement last week by Minister George Souris that Carriageworks is to expand its current space by an extra 5000 square metres. Hear Lisa’s plans for the exciting new phase in the history of one of Sydney’s most creative and atmospheric arts spaces.

At about 11:00 am, I’ll play an interview I recorded with Cao Yin, Curator of Chinese Art at AGNSW. Yin has curated a new exhibition, A Silk Road Saga: The Sarcophagus of Yu Hong and this sarcophagus is just beautiful. Apart from being a stunning work of art, it is an important historical object with much to reveal about life on this bit of the Silk Road in the sixth century.

Music will predominantly be Chinese, with some from the Silk Road.

As SilkRoad_1_770x314detailalways, I look forward to your company!
