Arts Wednesday 6 November 2013

In my continuing quest to find unusual musical instruments, I really struck luck last week! Wu Man plays pipa, often called the Chinese lute, and played a pipa concerto with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at three concerts. I recorded n interview with her in her dressing room, just after her last performance in Sydney and I’ll play that at about 10:40 am.

My special guest at 11:00 am is distinguished Australian playwright, Louis Nowra, who recorded an interview with me about his wonderful new book Kings Cross: A Biography. I’ll play that interview at about 11:00 am and I know you will enjoy our conversation.

Music will feature Wu Man on pipa and later, some songs about Kings Cross.

I do hope you can join me!
