Audi Festival of German Films: 30/04 – 14/05

German-film-festival-2013

Be ready for the 12th edition of the Audi Festival of German Films.
This year, the Audi Festival of German Films will start on April 30th in Sydney and will also be launched in seven different other cities of Australia.
You may think ‘Another film festival!’… Sure, but a good one!

We got the chance to watch the premiere of ‘Break up Man’ in Sydney, a light-hearted comedy featuring Matthias Schweighöfer, an award winning actor (‘Operation Valkyrie’) who is also the director of this comedy.
Though it was a sunny and warm day, nobody in the audience wished they would be anywhere else than in that dark room.
It had been a while since we had last seen the whole audience laugh so much during a film that is not a mainstream one.

After watching ‘Break up Man’, we felt like we would love to discover more German ‘treasures’ and grasp a sharp insight of modern German culture.

The 2013 festival edition entitled ‘Not a ‘sour kraut’ in sight…!’ has a lot to offer: documentaries (‘Sound of Heimat’), fantasies, children films (‘Famous Five’), dramas (‘The Wall’), psycho-horror and comedies (‘Omamamia’).
It will for sure attract a large and diverse audience. With such a promising program, cinema lovers will find what they are after while curious people may want to attend the planned offbeat events such as the skate event in relation to ‘This ain’t California’ or the Turkish delights event for ‘Turkish for beginners’.
