Black Gold Vinyl Fair 2013
Vinyl is seeing a glorious resurgence. People are returning to the unique warm, raspy tone that only a turntable can produce. Some say there is nothing like the sound of a record spinning.
Record sales are up around the globe. The US has seen a 33.5% increase in vinyl LP sales; in the UK sales have doubled; in Australia after last year’s 70% rise, this year sales have increased a further 50%! As vinyl grows in popularity there is no better place to be than Eastside’s Black Gold Vinyl Fair.
Whether you’re just beginning your vinyl journey or are a dedicated collector, come along and find a gem.
An assortment of over 8,000 rare and exclusive records will be on offer, hand picked by meticulous music collectors and a range of Australian DJs including The Vinyl Junkie, Fuse Records, Revolve Records, The Boogie Monster (Alex Dimitriades) plus new vendors Nick Toth, Bully Dux and many more.
Everything from disco, soul, and funk to hip-hop, reggae and blues will be available for vinyl lovers to immerse themselves in before retiring to the Local Taphouse’s rooftop courtyard for a mouth-watering selection from the plethora of craft beers on offer.
Providing the soundtrack for the day will be a variety of Eastside DJs including Paris Pompor (Groovescooter), Toon (The Vinyl Frontier), Manny (Moodswing) and Burn Hard (Sounds of Soul). Jump on the grooviest bandwagon passing by and head down to start or grow your collection.
