Brazilian music at it’s best: Anthropophagy

Anthropophagy is a night featuring Brazilian music debauchery at its best. A journey through sounds and music styles that have shaped contemporary Brazilian music landscape.

Afro-Brazilian to Bossa Nova and Tropicalia, Funk, Regional sounds, Psychedelic Rock and beyond. On the decks, Vibez Brazil (Eastside Radio 89.7FM) selector Astronafrica will guide you through the obscure, eclectic and groovy sounds cautiously selected from his Brazilian record collection.

Anthropophagy

On the live duties, Tiago De Lucca (Abuka, Rendevouz, Octopus Garden) a true modern tropicalist representative, he will be delivering a very intimate solo set. Tiago’s music permeates a kaleidoscopic approach, infusing rhythms and harmonies into corrupted beats. For Anthropophagy he will be delivering an array of originals and his influences from Brazil and from around the globe.

A celebration of Brazilian music, but also an intake into the less comercial side of Brazil’s music universe. An insight into b-sides and a subversive approach to break the outdated concept of what Brazilian music stands for.
