Bridie King Trio + The Foreday Riders at Notes Live

“King has a finely honed technique with a perfect grasp of the early southern US piano idiom and plays it with exhilaration and ineluctable swing.”

– The Australian

To celebrate the launch of her new album, Blue Ivories, Sydney’s very own Bridie King will perform an energetic blues set at Notes Live in Newtown. She will be playing piano, organ and piano accordion alongside her backing band, featuring Allan Britton on bass and Toby Hall on drums, as well as personnel from the recording sessions. She will be playing a ‘wonderful selection of tunes from artists such as Professor Longhair, Young-Holt Unlimited, Henry Butler and Don Raye’, as well as some hits from her new album.

Also appearing are the iconic Sydney band The Foreday Riders, who have been playing their brand of Jazz-inflected blues around Sydney since 1967. They will be joined for an extra-special second set with Bridie herself – this combination has proved most successful in the past, and Friday’s show will be no exception. Get in soon – tickets are selling fast!
