Cast your mind back to April…
Yes .. we know you never got to dance at Watsons Bay for Global Rhythms, we’re still recovering from the shock of cancelling the event. That weather washed out our site and our spirit.. But, we did have an awesome time at Jazz in Continuum!
The community loved our presence at Paddington Markets throughout March and April. And on Saturday April 2, Eastside Radio showcased over 50 talented jazz musicians at the 2nd Jazz In Continuum – a program initiative launched to expand the appreciation of jazz to a younger audience.
Three Giants of Sydney Jazz were the highlight… Judy Bailey & the Jazz Connection, The Mark Isaacs Trio and The Jake Barden Quartet featuring John Morrison.
But the stars were the students of Sydney Girls High, North Sydney Boys High, Newtown Performing Arts, Jazz Workshop Australia (Sydney), Keira High School and Conservatorium Jazz Orchestra (Wollongong). With band leaders Eric Dunan (Wollongong), Saul Richardson, Tim Crow and Luke Gilmour.
Thank you again to our major sponsors Sax & Woodwind and Yamaha, the Paddington Markets and the Uniting Church, all the performers, staff, volunteers and our audience both at the event and listening to our live broadcast – you made it such a success. Wait til we hit you with our ideas for next year!
