Celebrating Music With Friends Of Kim Sanders
Friends of Kim Sanders‘ Band (FoKS) are joining together on October 26, eleven months from his death, to play Kim’s compositions, as well as an old favorite or two.
Kim Sanders’ compositions fuse elements from Balkan, West African, and Middle-Eastern folk musics, jazz, but also Indian, Turkish and Classical. Finally, all these multicultural music elements spin a hypnotic web of exotic sounds and collective improvisation, creating a new music that has its own voice.
Sandy Evans and Llew Kiek will lead you into this night of bent grooves, trancin’ and wild honking. Percussionist Peter Kennard and bassist Steve Elphick will drive these compelling and sometimes convoluted rhythms.
Last but not least there will also be special extras, including Boyd of the large vulgar saxophones and Chris Fields on more percussion.
Come join this extraordinary event and let yourself become witness of how Kim Sanders’ music is blossoming once again!
