Celebrating the Art of Sydney, both outside and in…
Vivid turned the lights on around the harbour on Friday, so I thought it fitting to chat to a couple of the people who make Sydney shine. Celebrating the Art of Sydney, both outside and in, this weeks Arts Monday we have three special guests: Ruth McDermott, Ben Baxter and Johanna Glassborow.
Firstly, Vivid artists Ruth Mc Dermott and Ben Baxter, two artists who have found the medium of light provides an extraordinary palette from which their ideas can grow. Both have a background in industrial design and have been collaborating on public art projects for the last few years. We’ll be discussing the relationship between light, nature and society through their artwork. We’ll also take a sneak preview at the concept of light installations and the composer Wagner.

My second guest is another Sydney artist Johanna Glassborow – who’ll share with Eastside how she takes her artwork and puts it in the context of other people’s homes. Johanna’s business is Hause of Glassborow, a bespoke textile design and furniture business, creating hand rendered and digital textile designs, turning furniture into art – running with horses and time travel.
