Come Together – and share the vibes
Sydney has a sizzling jazz scene, but perhaps at times it seems a little elusive. Small clubs, one-off gigs, independent artists – all these things are what make the music the beautiful, living, breathing creature it is. However, they also mean you have to be in the know, or miss the moment.
Eastside Radio is your ticket to always being in the know.
Sydney’s greatest jazz professionals sit behind our microphones. The brightest new talents call in to tell us what they’re up to. Sammy Al plays the latest releases on The New Thing every Monday. Our Album of the Week lets you hear in depth what’s just hit the earphones of people with their ear to the ground (in a manner of speaking). If it’s jazz (or blues, funk, soul, world, indie/folk/fusion) and it’s coming to town, we will make sure you hear about it.
That’s why we partner with venues like 505, the Camelot Lounge and Foundry 616, and organisations like SIMA and Jazzgroove, not to mention the Jazz Action Society that we support with our in-house resources.
Of course we love our theatre, too. Gaz and Di make Arts Tuesday the time you can catch up on all the shows around town, and there’s nothing Chris and Susie on Arts Friday don’t know about musicals. And keep in mind that if you sign up or renew as a supporter this week we have tickets to give away to shows from amazing companies and venues including Darlinghurst Theatre, Carriageworks, Rock Surfers, Sydney Theatre Company and Griffin.
When you become one of our supporters, you help us keep working to be the hub of all these great live performances, and you have your own stake in this vibrant, diverse, weird and wonderful world we call Sydney Jazz.
If you haven’t renewed your membership yet, get on the phone to us (02 9331 3000) or sign up online.
