A World Without Sex

A World Without Sex is a new cabaret set in a time when the government has banned hetrosexual sex due to overpopulation.  This is a comic, sexy, cheeky cabaret with adaptions of popular songs, a taste of burlesque and a live cooking show.

Green up your Life:  Green up your Home

This is part of a series of workshops aimed at helping you make sustainable changes in your home, on your plate and at work.  Green up your home will focus on your living space  with a variety of tricks, tools and ideas on how to ‘green up your home’.  For more information on the rest of the workshop series go to www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au

Macondo’s Clothesline

Imagine you are falling from a tall building. What do you see? Close your eyes – you’re here: Welcome to Macondo.  This is an ensemble devised story, inspired by Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s ‘El drama del Desencantado’, using live music, text and puppetry.

Windmill Project- Windwork of Time

This project is just one part of the Windmill Project, a month long festival of art and culture in the Rocks.  Windwork of Time is an installation within the Windmill, which has been built to be used as a performance and artist space over the festival.  It is a surround sound exhibition that will blends interiors with the exterior and our natural environments with dramatic, classical texts.  For more information on the Windmill Project go to www.therocks.com.  You can always stay on for the free live events that evening (though bookings/ registration is essential)

Phillip Johnstone Quartet

Sydney Improvised Music Association is proud to present the Phillip Johnstone Quartet all the way from NYC.  Spending time bewteen Sydney and NY this quartet brings together some great musicians and a unique style of jazz.  Johnstone has been described as ‘an exceptionally individualistic composer and superb improviser’.

‘Like a sculpture gallery where all the artists go home at 6pm’

This installation follows on from 11 rooms (Manchester) and 12 Rooms (Germany) where artists fill a room with work involving the human body.  13 artists are allocated a room each which they create in using performers.  The audience walks through each room, interacting with the  human sculptures.
