Art Month Sydney
10th yearly city-wide celebration of contemporary art and artists
Galleries and creative spaces across Sydney will throw open their doors for the 10th yearly Art Month Sydney, a massive city-wide celebration of contemporary art and artists.
The milestone festival boasts its biggest ever program of free exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions, artist talks, studio visits, tours, precinct nights, and parties.
See unique exhibitions and get into the minds of Sydney’s artists, with the biggest ever range of artist talks at various venues across the city.
Art Month will fire up after dark in a different part of the city each Thursday with the flagship Art at Night: Precinct Nights Paddington and Woollahra (7 March), Waterloo and Green Square (14 March), East Sydney (21 March), and Chippendale and Redfern (28 March). Galleries in each precinct will open late, from 6pm to 8pm, for curated Art Month walking tours, followed by spectacular Art at Night parties until late.
See works from some of Sydney’s most exciting private collections with perennial festival favourite, Collectors’ Space at 541 Art Space in Sydney city (7 – 23 March), and pop into The Studio Open presented by Art Month at The Other Art Fair at Australian Technology Park (14 – 17 March), offering a sneak-peek into some of Sydney’s most dynamic artist studios.
Head north side for Art Month’s second Unrepresented Artist Exhibition, Saturated Terrain, at Incinerator Art Space in Willoughby throughout the month, and take the North Shore Art Tour on 30 March. Catch a flick with The Art of Film – a series of three film screenings and talks – in partnership with the Alliance Francaise French Film Festival.

Are you having trouble with the way you eat?
Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous
Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous (FA) is a 12 step program for anyone who suffers from overeating, undereating, bulimia, or an obsession with food, weight or body size. There are no dues or fees, and meetings are open to anyone who wants to stop eating addictively.
Who might benefit from FA? People who find help in FA vary greatly. Some of us have been diagnosed as morbidly obese while others are undereaters. Among us are those who were severely bulimic, who have harmed themselves with compulsive exercise, or whose quality of life was impaired by constant obsession with food or weight. We tend to be people who, in the long-term, have failed at every solution we tried, including therapy, support groups, diets, fasting, exercise, and in-patient treatment programs.
Does FA work? Some of our members have been in continuous recovery (maintaining a stable, healthy weight and enjoying freedom from obsession with food, weight, bingeing, or bulimia) for over 25 years. Members with 5 to 10 years of recovery are increasingly common.

Your free tree giveaway
Pick up a free tree and help us create a greener, healthier and more liveable city
The City of Sydney will give away 1,000 trees to our residents* on Saturday 30 March.
Head down to Sydney Park Road car park to pick up your tree. We’ll be there from 10am to 2pm, or until all the trees are gone.
Please bring identification on the day that clearly shows your current residential address. Each eligible household is entitled to up to 2 free trees, before they run out. The event is popular and parking is limited, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
There will be small, medium and large native and exotic trees to choose from. Pick a deciduous or evergreen species to best suit your property.
Enjoy a sausage sizzle and chat to our staff for advice on how to plant your tree and general tree maintenance.
The City gives away trees to encourage residents to help us reach our target of increasing the city’s tree canopy to 50 per cent by 2030. This makes our city cooler, improves air quality and provides a greater habitat for birds and animals.
Trees are only available to eligible City of Sydney residents in: Alexandria, Annandale*, Barangaroo, Beaconsfield, Camperdown*, Centennial Park, Chippendale, Darlinghurst*, Darlington, Dawes Point, Elizabeth Bay, Erskineville, Eveleigh, Forest Lodge, Glebe, Haymarket, Millers Point, Moore Park, Newtown*, Paddington, Potts Point*, Pyrmont, Redfern, Rosebery*, Rushcutters Bay, St Peters, Surry Hills*, Sydney, The Rocks, Ultimo, Waterloo, Woolloomooloo and Zetland.
*Some streets are located in neighbouring council areas. Check the eligibility of your address using our simple search tool.
