This May, Pier One Sydney Harbour is partnering with Goldberg Aberline Studio for Australia’s most intimate creativity festival, The Creative Hub.

An amazing lineup of Sydney’s most iconic creatives and innovators help Sydneysiders “rediscover Sydney” by offering a series of hands-on workshops, Masterclasses and panel conversations with some of Australia's most influential creatives at the Pier.

The Creative Hub will be held in the Bridge Marquee, which will be transformed into The Art Bar, a fabulous, creative, experiment of temporary architecture by international artists Goldberg Aberline Studio. Overlooking stunning views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this event space features an amazing GAS inflatable installation, fun furniture and a pop up bar flowing with cocktails and champagne. The Art Bar is also open to the public for anyone who wants to drop in for a social gathering and enjoy the stunning harbourside environment in Walsh Bay’s Cultural Precinct.

The Sydney Opera House's free, nightly First Nations sails lighting returns from Friday 23 April, with a vibrant new projection that celebrates the work and stories of 6 female First Nations artists.

Badu Gili: Wonder Women, curated by Art Gallery of New South Wales Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art, Coby Edgar, is a creative collaboration between the Opera House and the Art Gallery of New South Wales, to mark the Gallery's 150th anniversary.

The six-minute animation weaves together the work of artists from across Australia: Wadawurrung elder Marlene Gilson; Yankunytjatjara woman Kaylene Whiskey; Luritja woman Sally Mulda; and Western Arrarnta women Judith Inkamala and Marlene Rubuntja and the late Kamilaroi woman Elaine Russell.

The projection will appear hourly on the Opera House’s eastern Bennelong sail each night from sunset, enabled by the NSW Government’s Culture Up Late initiative.

Explore the Justice & Police Museum during Culture Up Late with extended evening opening hours from 5pm-8pm every Thursday and Friday evening and free entry.

The historic buildings that make up the Justice & Police Museum once hosted infamous criminals like bushranger Captain Moonlite and sly-grog queen Kate Leigh, as Sydney's police and magistrates kept law and order.

Walk the corridor of cells and check out the chilling collection of criminal weapons and hundreds of photos from the forensic archives. Visit can also enjoy the salacious tales told at the Murder in the Museum talk (adults only) and a drink from our speakeasy piano bar.

Sydney Living Museums are joining other major arts and cultural institutions for Culture Up Late, a NSW Government initiative aimed at revitalizing Sydney’s cultural life.

Culture Up Late at the Justice & Police Museum will run until the end of June 2021.
