Closer: Portraits of Survival

A powerful exhibition exploring the artefacts and individuals that anchor us to the past. Award winning photographer Katherine Griffiths has photographed 44 Holocaust survivors holding photographs, letters and artefacts that are emblematic of their survival.
“The individuals in the exhibition were adults, teens and children who spoke different languages and whose subsequent suffering took different forms,” says curator Roslyn Sugarman. “When taken as one, their combined experiences paint a vivid and haunting picture of the German war against the Jews of Europe and the resilience of the Jewish people despite all attempts to annihilate them.”
Entry is free with entry to the museum

Every year, more than 6,000 people flock to the fair to meet the makers behind niche reads, and to put pen to paper and create a short-run print of their own.
