Right here in Paddington, not far from the Eastside station, "The Oceanic Art Society" is hosting a "Tribal Art Fair". This special event will feature the participation of numerous collectors, dealers and enthusiasts offering tribal art, crafts and collectables from Africa, Indigenous Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region, Asia and more.

There will be a diverse range of items showcased visitors can view and purchase wood, stone and bone carvings, masks, figurines, shields, bows & arrows, spears, bone and stone implements and utensils, pottery, jewellery, beadwork, tapestries, rugs, basketry, decorator pieces and more from different parts of the globe.

If you are interested in finding cool art that you don't see everyday this is where you will find it. Maybe you are a semi archaeologist and want to track down pieces you can't find or maybe you are just looking for a decorative piece for your home, there is sure to be lots to amaze the eye.

Every day we walk or drive past trees, plants and wildlife, but have you ever stopped to wonder the life of these trees and the future for our wildlife with more and more infrastructure being built up around them.

If you would like to find out whatever questions you have about the trees you pass by and are looking to go on a guided tour of our Eastern Suburbs, then for its second year "Randwick's Tree Walk For Tree Day" will be taking place on Australia's "National Tree Day".

A community walk beside Randwick's iconic, heritage trees between Centennial Park at the corner of Alison Road and Anzac Parade, and High Cross Park.

The aim of the project is to let people understand the difficulties our wildlife and urban trees are facing in the future and to be informative as possible about your local heritage trees.

Don't worry if walking is not for you, at High Cross Park you can enjoy free face painting, animals, art & add your leafy ideas to the wishing tree.

When: Sunday 26th July from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Where: The walk starts from Centennial Park (corner Anzac Parade & Alison Rd).

If you would like a free and delicious lunch all for good reasons then join thousands of people across the country in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Port Macquarie & Sapphire Coast as they will be coming together with Australia's leading food rescue organisation, "OzHarvest" who are holding an event in partnership with the "United Nations Environment Program".

Next week Sydney's "Think.Eat.Save" event will be on that will feature a number of volunteers and food industry experts getting behind the campaign to encourage the public to reduce food waste and raise awareness about the issue.

Some of the nation's top chefs as well as politicians will gather to make a stance against food waste, which is currently costing Australians up to $10 billion each year.

Another great arts event starting at the end of the month to run on for ten days is the annual "Harbour Sculpture": a unique exhibition of art spread across Clarkes Point Reserve Woolwich and through the deckhouse function centre and surrounds. "Harbour Sculpture" also showcases the extraordinary natural environment setting in which the event is held.

Harbour Sculpture is an opportunity to engage the community and artists in the visual experience of sculptural works and sculptural space against our harbour location bringing the best Australian sculptors to exhibit their work. With over 90 artists exhibiting their work both inside and outside there is sure to be something that will catch everybody's eye.

Harbour Sculpture is an independent, not-for-profit project run by volunteers.

Looking for a night that's a bit eccentric, and definitely unconventional, then "The Divine Circus" is bringing streams of love to Sydney with their show that is all about radiating positive energy and celebrating individuality.

The Divine Circus creates a magical atmosphere of music, wildness and freedom. This bohemian group fizzes with contagious joy to open the heart and free the soul.
Their mission is to play with passion, to be real, to have fun, to dance and to ignite the body and soul of those that dare to be free.

If fashion trends are your thing but you just don't like all the bustle and hype that centres around some of the big events then on the last day of the month "Fashion UnWINEd" is an event to entertain you in fashion, beauty, food and wine in a relaxed environment.
At the event they will be showcasing the gifted and talented, up and coming alongside established Australian designers to show their talents through their current collections.

Some of the designers are Leatheron, Jess Catherine, and Nadz & Sabz plus many more. The special factor of fashion unWINEd is the individual experience, people can learn from those who work in the industry and the comfortable environment of having a few drinks while also maybe making business connections or finding that designer you have been waiting for.

It is a fund raising event and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation, Australia’s Oldest HIV Charity.

Here at Eastside FM I'm sure you know we love our blues, and of course the whole world loves blues, that's why the first Saturday of August is "International Blues Music Day".

Sydney is definitely going to be a part of the celebrations as "The Basement Blues Society" will be hosting some of this country's finest blues musicians on this special day.

Featuring music from The Mighty Reapers, The Shane Pacey Trio, and Sweet Lil’ Rider, Local Blues Legends “Continental” Robert Susz – Dave Brewer – Clayton Doley – Antero Ceschin – Vito Portolesi to get you dancing and never forgetting the annual night.
