Creative Corner Festival
Here in Paddington where your favourite station Eastside Radio is based there are always lots of artistic events happening. This weekend will be extra special as The Creative Corner Festival is being held.
The festival is a collaboration of creatives, local businesses and the community to showcase the Arts precinct of Paddington. There will be fantastic live performances and a variety of talented works of art. Competitions will be held with prizes for the best two artists taking part in the event.
It is a day that all of the community comes together to showcase what is on offer, there will be lots of different shop retailers that will have attractions. Fabulous fashion, quirky shops and all things creative. To keep you moving and grooving, there will be live music and a wide range of food stalls.
The festival will also be exhibiting a new generation of artists, designers and multimedia practitioners who bring together a multi-dimensional showcase from the UNSW Art & Design ANNUAL graduate exhibition.
More good news, the G4 guitar business in Paddington will be offering free guitar lessons, one of the many interesting attractions for everyone throughout the day.

The Makers Nest - Locally Made Design Market
We all know the holiday that is only around the corner, some love it some hate it, either way something that most of us do is spoil our loved ones with presents.
If you are looking for a market where you might pick up some unique gifts then head along to The Makers' Nest - Locally Made Design Market.
The Makers' Nest is the locally made, indoor design market. This is the perfect opportunity to meet the maker, shop local and enjoy the visual feast that will be on offer.
Throughout the day, event-goers can browse a diverse variety of contemporary fashion, jewellery, homewares, art, illustration and more, all crafted by passionate and talented independent artisan makers.

Art+Nature+Science
Art+Nature+Science 2010-2015 is an exhibition of artists working with science and or technology in Culture at Work’s residency and exhibition program during 2010-2015.
35 artists have been working with scientists, architects, mathematicians, psychologists, neuroscientists, cancer scientists, lighting designers, acoustic engineers, anthropologists and other experts.
Several artists exhibiting in Art+Nature+Science have undertaken professional development opportunities and returned to research a new project in a supportive creative environment, and have submitted commissions for science buildings. The work that you will see throughout the exhibition could very well be a further step in expanding ones thought into science.

Cambridge Christmas Markets
If you don't want to be leaving your Christmas shopping till last minute and can't imagine going near the queues in town then head along to the Cambridge Christmas Markets.
Another great day of stalls and entertainment in the Eastern Suburbs where you can find over 80 stalls, providing a wide range of gift ideas including fashion and accessories, homewares and tailored Christmas ideas.
It is going to be your one stop Christmas stop, you will be able to get all the present hunting out of the way. Gift stalls will vary from local & fair-trade businesses, to specialty artisans. You can also grab your fresh Christmas tree, wrapping paper & decorations here.
On the day there will be plenty of family fun, delicious international food stalls and kids activities to keep everyone busy while Santa goes shopping.

Liam Budge - Jazz Vocalist
If you are looking for a gig to go along to next week, one that will be bringing a fresh young voice to Sydney will be Liam Budge and his energetic and explorative quartet.
Award winning Jazz Vocalist Liam Budge presents his first headline performance in Sydney since returning from a year in New York. Liam has won several awards and recognition's including the Australia Arts Council's ArtStart Scholarship, James Morrison Generations in Jazz Scholarship and two ARTSACT scholarships.
On the night you will see Liam performing a mix of originals and standards from his critically acclaimed debut album and a new body of work showcasing the talent of his quartet with Tim Firth on drums, Brett Hirst on acoustic bass, PJ Koopman on guitar and Luke Sweeting on keys.

Coogee Family Fun Day
With the weather really starting to warm up where better to have a family fun day then the beach. Next week in one of the Eastern Suburbs' lovely beaches there will be the Coogee Family Fun Day.
There will be plenty of attractions throughout the day with entertainment, market stalls, children entertainment, classes, performances and a visit from Santa.
You can also enjoy browsing and picking up great bargains with over eighty market stalls on offer, showcasing fashion, accessories, jewellery, great gifts, homewares, toys, and much more goodies to browse and purchase.
To keep everyone having lots of fun on the day there will be lots of entertainment for the little legs, such as carnival rides, a reptile display, a petting zoo, live performances including local dance groups, workshops, and activities.

The Lifeline Fiction Book Sale
If you fancy yourself as a bit of a book worm or are just looking for something to read when you are relaxing, there will be an event on where you can stock up on books for great value.
The Lifeline Fiction Book Sale is where you can browse the more than 20,000 books on offer and be amazed at the combination of high quality and low prices.
You will be able to get ten children's books for one dollar, you can also get very-good-condition adult fiction novels for $1 & $2.

Bondi to Bronte Ocean Swim
If you are a fan of ocean swimming and are feeling up for a challenge, two of the lovely iconic beaches in the Eastern Suburbs are having there annual swim as the Bondi to Bronte Swim is on for its 16th year.
Over the past 4 years the Bondi to Bronte Swim and it's incredible swimmers have raised over $130,000 for it's charity partner The Kids' Cancer Project. Not only are you setting yourself a challenge to remember you are also raising funds and awareness for a great cause.
Not to worry if you are not feeling up for the whole Bondi to Bronte journey as there are three different swims on, there will be the Bondi to Bronte - 2.2km swim, the Bronte Bay - adults 800m swim from Bronte Beach and so everyone can join in on the fun there will be the Banana Boat Junior Ocean Swim - a 400m or 800m swim for under 13's.
