Pyrmont Festival
The Pyrmont Festival returns for 17 packed days of mouthwatering food, fine wine, and the very best in local arts and culture. The festival is headlined by a 2-day family friendly event at Pirrama Park on 28-29 September from 11am to 5pm, one of the biggest free outdoor food and wine festivals in Sydney.
In 2019, the festival partners with Orange NSW to showcase the finest cool-climate wines from the region. This is Australia’s only wine region defined by its altitude, and home to over 30 cellar doors and more than 80 vineyards.
The program alsos include wine tastings and special dinner events by some of Pyrmont’s most popular restaurants.
Last year’s Pyrmont Festival headline event saw 20,000 locals, families, tourists, connoisseurs, and celebrities come together to enjoy wine tasting, fine foods, art, children’s entertainment, rides and an all-day program of live music.

The Big Bike Film Night
Prepare to be inspired! The Big Bike Film Night is on a mission – sharing the best cycling short films from around the world with you.
Returning to Sydney (we had so much fun last year!!) we’re again part of the exciting Sydney Rides festival program.
Showcasing our 2019 collection that has everything a cycling-centric audience could want – action, drama, humour, and plenty of inspiration; the evening is going to be unashamedly, unequivocally, and utterly Bike-alicious!
Our treasure chest of stories includes… a spectacle of winter with the icy playground providing a visual journey as never seen before by bike; a fixie rider who commits a crime of passion; five friends with disabilities attempting a world first human powered ride from Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre 2150km to Mount Kosciuszko in Australia (what could possibly go wrong?); a New Zealander who has a two wheel love story to share; a heart-warming documentary about a ‘community mother’ who runs a bicycle training program for migrant and refugee women in Amsterdam; and two pioneering mountain bikers undertaking an adventure in wild and unknown landscapes, riding only horse trails, in heartland Africa; ALL in the mix!!
These short films are a great reminder of why we love to ride our bike; with stories that captivate us, stories that make us think, and most importantly of all- stories that inspire us to get out and ride. Tales of character, resilience, challenge, courage, triumphs over adversity and much much more.
So…listen to the voice inside you; it’s telling you to go. Grab your mates, grab your tickets, GO ON… grab your bike and come along for the ride!!

How the city cares
An exhibition of artist-led projects that consider life in Sydney through care for its places and people
Does the city care?
It would be easy to answer this question in the negative. Life in a large city like Sydney is so often measured through values like wealth and growth. From the perspective of our footpaths and windows, urban development seems to be extending rapidly and unstoppably, outwards and upwards. People are counted not as individual citizens, rather by the million.
But How the City Cares considers life in Sydney through artist-led projects that have sought to care about and for its people and places. These projects take a variety of forms, including the documentation of protest and of long-term community resistance, creative support for community-run activities and spaces, portable contexts for teaching and learning, design approaches that re-think our relationship to land and water (and who owns it), innovations for reversing environmental and cultural damage and encounters that ask questions to communities and listen to the answers they offer.
Artists: Rebecca Conroy, Brenda L Croft, Keg de Souza, Bonita Ely, Future Method (Genevieve Murray and Joel Sherwood-Spring), Sarah Goffman, SquatSpace (Diego Bonetto, Keg de Souza, Lucas Ihlein and Mickie Quick) posters from the Tin Sheds Poster Collection, The University of Sydney by Jean Clarkson, Jan Fieldsend, Marie McMahon, Therese Kenyon and Toni Robertson. Curated by Bec Dean.
