If you are looking for a healthy way to spend your day, and want to get out and about for a fun run or walk while also supporting a great cause, then for the first time in Sydney Olympic Park the MS Fun run and walk will be taking place. A day to support Australians living with multiple sclerosis.

Join 5,000 participants for a warm-up at Sydney Olympic Park, with a choice of either a 5km or 10km walk through the Sydney Olympic Park precinct.

Both the 5km and 10km courses are around the surrounding foreshores and parklands of iconic Sydney Olympic Park, or if you're feeling up for a bit more than a walk and want to run it, then the MS Fun Run be a choice of either a 5km or 10 km course (2 laps) around the largest urban parkland in Sydney.

So if you're looking for an excuse to get out in this fresh autumn weather and for a reason to take part in a run then this is definitely where you should be going the last day of the month.

You're entry fee for the MS Walk and Fun Run covers the cost of staging the event. That means every dollar you fundraise will go directly to funding services and support for people living with multiple sclerosis.

Two men that need no introduction, having both won 34 Grammy Awards combined and more than five decades of experience on stage, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, each a living legend of exceptional output, constantly transcending genre and stylistic restriction.

These key figures in the genre of Jazz are coming to Sydney, some of you might have already bought the tickets months ago, an event that has to be highlighted as one of the historic Jazz nights, as both artists have established their own outstanding careers, they each share a similarly uncompromising approach to their craft. They will be bringing you their works of art together as the story still goes on.

Some of you might have been lucky enough to experience a performance by them in the past and maybe you want to do it all over again, but for those of you who want to relive the Miles Davis Quartet days or Return to Forever, and feel like you were there.
Definitely a night not to be missed if either of these artists influenced the music that you listen to.

With all the art festivals happening right now, such as Sydney Writers' Festival and the Vivid festival, up next is the Sydney Film Festival this year will be the festival's 62nd year, showcasing the best in cinema from across Australia and around the world, including features, documentaries, short films, retrospectives, restorations, animation and more.

One of the world's oldest film festivals, Sydney Film Festival reflects the historic development of the Australian film industry. The flagship program of the Festival is the official competition, which was started in 2008 and celebrates courageous, audacious and cutting-edge cinema. The Sydney Film Prize and $60,000 cash is awarded by a jury of five Australian and international filmmakers and industry professionals to the winner, among the 12 titles selected for the Official Competition.

There will be sure to be something for everyone, as they will be screening 251 films from 68 countries, including 34 World Premieres, 138 Australian Premieres and 3 International Premieres, so no matter what you're fancy is, if you want an educated documentary or a laugh out loud comedy I'm sure there will be something there for you.

Cost: A wide range of priced tickets, with flexipass tickets to entitle you to 10 shows starting at $150.

There are several really interesting events taking place throughout the Vivid festival, however this one in particular sounds very informative and interesting for all fans of music out there.

As we all know technology has completely changed the way in which we find, source and listen to music nowadays, compared to previous years and one thing we can be sure of, is that it is going to change again but in what way we do not know.

If you want to find out how technology has redefined the way musicians create songs, and what technologies will be leading the way for musicians, producers and composers.

Then at this unique event presented by Dropbox you will have several speakers working and involved in the music industry, discussing the creative process behind some of their biggest hits and explore how technology is helping to bridge distance, allowing artists to collaborate around the world to make music together.

So if you are in the producing side of things, or even if your a dinasaour to this modern age technology, I'm sure there will be insightful notes for everyone, and best of all the proceeds will go towards the Himalayan Development Foundation Australia Disaster Relief Fund to help the victims of the Nepal Earthquake.

Some of the most exciting and up-beat performances that can be brought onto the stage are musicals.

If you are planning on putting pen to paper and scripting your own work of wonder, that will be the next big hit on Broadway, but you're slightly worried if your imagination will run out of control and you will be left with no structure, then this is an event for you to get you're do's and dont's as licensing agent, Stuart Hendricks of MTI Australasia and Hal Leonard leading casting director, Lynne Ruthven of Lynne Ruthven Casting and marketing and publicity expert, Kendra Reid, Managing Director of AKA Australia.

Will be holding a night of discussion to answer the questions you might need answered, if you want to get the ball rolling on putting your own show together, or even if you're just curious and interested in the magic of musicals and want to learn more.

Putting together a brilliant piece takes as much as your great imagination as it can, but some tips from the experts might not do any harm.

There is a lot to be said about how proud you feel when you design and create a piece of art or craft. Maybe you used to focus a lot of your time on making arts and crafts as a hobby, but then the fast paced life we all live took over your time were you used to unwind and put together a piece to show off.

Well on Friday the 5th its a day that lets you dive back into getting glue on your fingertips, and paint in your hair, as it is a one-day global celebration of meeting and making.

Every year, people from around the world come together on the same day in locally organised Etsy Craft Parties to create art and inspire each other.

Having started back in 2010 holding the global parties, there is also an annual theme, and this years theme is recapture, and who doesn't love bringing fond memories back to light comparing old photos with recent ones, height changes from a child growing up, or making a collage of all the memories you want to recapture, its up to you.

If you are an avid Eastside listener you're more than likely a fan of good Jazz, and if that's the case you might already know about this event as its sure to be a huge night on the Jazz scene calendar in Sydney.

As three time grammy award winner Dee Dee Bridgewater and plenty more great names come to the stage for one night only, also playing on the night are Cultural Ambassador of the City of New Orleans and State of Louisiana Irvin Mayfield, and the New Orleans Jazz orchestra.

As these artist come direct from America to awaken Sydney for a night of full on Jazz, I'm sure it will be a highlight for some of your ears out there.

In this new collaboration with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and Artistic Director Irvin Mayfield, Dee Dee will explore traditional songs such as Big Chief, Saint James Infirmary, and What a Wonderful World along as well as exciting new compositions Congo Square and C’est Ici Que Je T’aime.

They say it is the media that game changes movement, and that divides peoples opinions, but it is the artists that create change and bring to light subjects that need to be discussed. It may be through song, dance, works of art or storytelling.

There will be an afternoon taking place where six artists will be showcasing a mix of talks and performances on cultural awareness, Indigenous rights, sexuality, gender equality, diversity, feminism, youth and marginalised communities.

What better topic to talk about than social change, some of the speakers on the day are Mayu Kanamori a Japanese-Australian Storyteller, PoeTRIBE an Indigenous Spoken Work Duo, and many more.

They will aim to be an enabling force for social change. It calls on artists to take leadership and for everyone to participate and live with greater humanity.

A very insightful and entertaining afternoon where you will meet people who share the same interests in the greater good.
