Celebrate: Australia on Chinese rice paper
Chinese brush painting on rice paper of Australian landscape by two artists, Xiuying Chen and Lilian Lai.
The artists are of Chinese heritage and ethnicity who are overseas-born and have migrated to Australia and made their homes here in Sydney. The artists, bringing their traditions and culture, and expressing through their art, share their vision of Australia in this exhibition.

The Rocks Lunar Markets
The air comes alive with the sights, scents and sounds of Asian street food being served. Fragrant smoke lingers gently in the air, local produce sizzles to perfection, and sweet treats are lovingly prepared by talented providores.
Stroll down cobblestoned lanes where you will find unusual gifts for friends, family or even yourself. You will discover handcrafted jewellery, textiles, homewares, art and more.
The market will be bursting with colour as red lanterns line the streets, representing the colour of good fortune. Keep your eye out for traditional lion dance performances.

The Goodwill Wall: Circular Quay
The City of Sydney’s Sydney Lunar Festival charity partner, The Fred Hollows Foundation, invites you to give the gift of sight at the Goodwill Wall.
The interactive screen encourages you to make a donation that will restore sight in disadvantaged communities around the world.
The Goodwill Wall will be at Pitt Street Mall from Saturday 25 January to Thursday 30 January. The wall then appears at Circular Quay for the Lunar Lanterns exhibition on Friday 31 January to Sunday 9 February.

The Ratrobats: In celebration of the Year of the Rat
Meet our troupe of 8 larger than life “rats” showing off acrobatic skills inspired by the ancient Chinese performance.
8 rat sculptures (each 2.5m high) will be on display at World Square during Lunar New Year.
Mimic their playful poses as they balance and juggle. Watch the cheeky ratrobats come to life in augmented reality on the interactive live screen – that’s when the fun really begins.

Storytime @ Surry Hills
Storytime is a fun session of storytelling and craft for pre-schoolers. The sessions foster an early love of reading and social interaction in readiness for school.
