If you fancy yourself as a skeptic or on the other hand are full sure that you are a believer, there will be an event on that will bring all questions to the table, at the Skeptics vs Believers discussion.

The event will be an exhibition of The Dreams Our Stuff Is Made Of which is an investigation of the profound influence of science fiction upon the language and thinking of contemporary art. Artists have been asked to respond visually to a science fiction text (or texts) which has influenced their artistic practice, the project is to bring you on a trip through time, space, and the human capacity for thought.

Followed by the exhibition of The Dreams Our Stuff Is Made Of there will be a panel discussion made up of two teams, skeptics and believers who will discuss questions such as the big bang theory, the existence of extra-terrestrial life, string theory and the idea of God.

Following the panel discussion, artists Adam Norton and Johnathan McBurnie will discuss their work, its relationship to science fiction and the origins of the exhibition.

An area of Sydney that definitely has a vibe and atmosphere to it that it would play a great host to a festival, is doing just that, as on the second Sunday of November Newtown holds its biggest annual event on its calendar as the Newtown Festival is back.

The festival is one of Sydney’s largest community events, Newtown Festival encapsulates the spirit of Newtown’s vibrant creative, conscientious and inclusive community. A fun day out with five stages of live music, dedicated arts hubs and a celebration of local food and drink outlets.
Having won two major awards last year for ‘Best Music Event’ and ‘Best NSW Community Event" it is no surprise that there is over 90,000 people attending annually, the festival showcases the best local and national music, arts, entertainment, creative enterprises, learning opportunities and delicious food.

Apart from lots of fun and entertainment the festivals' aim is also to raise funds for the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC), which provides services for vulnerable and disadvantaged people. An event that will help a great cause while also taking in some of Sydney's best artists' work.

If you are always looking for ways to eat healthier and want to discover other options that are out there, or if you are just looking to pop along to a night market, then next weekend Sydney will be having one of its first wholefood night markets for you to find out everything there is to know about a cleaner diet.

The night markets are brought to you by GoodnessMe Box who's aim is to provide you food with integrity.
At the markets there will be a health inspired BBQ, juice bars where you can ride on soulful smoothie bikes plus there will be a creative kitchen and cooking demos from My Kitchen Rules stars Luke and Scott, along with talks from Lola Berry about her latest book, Lola Berry’s Little Book of Smoothies and Juices.
There will be lots of stalls offering up there great wholesome produce and while you browse through all the tasty selections you can also wander the markets with an organic wine in hand.

So if your thinking of starting to eat a little healthier or just cant find too many wholesome options that satisfy your tastebuds then this is the market to head to, stroll through the great atmosphere under the fairy lights with lots of interesting stalls.

A unique arts event is starting next week and will run on for six weeks, giving you every chance to pop a long and take in all the wonders a shipping container could offer, as the LOCO Project pop-up gallery comes to town.

The idea of this fun talented project is to exhibit the work from over 30 artists from inner Sydney and inner west in a new pop-up shipping container gallery/ shop in Glebe. Exhibited works will include paintings, photography, collages and digital illustration, plus live art each Saturday.
The event is in collaboration with Burger 10, Mountain Goat Beer, and Brown Brothers so you can be sure that you wont go hungry or thirsty while viewing the unique arts show in the container, the pop-up gallery/shop is held with support of the Glebe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sydney to make it one big show.

This certainly isn't your normal gallery visit as you stroll through the studios or bid on a price, at LOCO you can also purchase works as prints, t-shirts, cards and skatedecks so you can bring your favourite art piece with you everywhere you go.

If you are looking for a gig to head along to but are not sure which one to check out, well a night that will bring you sounds from all parts of the world by some of Sydney's best musicians is a performance by Mister Ott.

Local outfit Mister Ott exhibits a strong ‘Ethiojazz’ influence as cultivated by musicians like Mulatu Astatke and Getatchew Mekurya. Fronted by acclaimed saxophonist Matthew Ottignon, the band comprises some of Sydney’s finest talent with Matthew Ottignon on tenor, baritone saxes and flute, Ellen Kirwood on trumpet, Daniel Pliner on piano and organ, Ben Panucci on guitar, Eden Ottignon on bass and Dan Kennedy on drums.

Who collectively bring an amalgamation of native melodies from many sources, blended with the free-form improvisation and syncopation for which African-pedigreed jazz is renowned, as the outfits' sound is influenced by the unique sounds of Ethiopian music.

You will be sure to be swinging the night away full of energy as there will be lively sounds of eastern mellismatic scales and hypnotic trancelike rhythms head to head with seriously solid funk grooves.

If you are looking to pick up a new art piece for your home then next weekend here in the Eastern Suburbs there will be an Indigenous Art Sale, bringing you the best from emerging and established Aboriginal artists.

The art sale will have creations directly from remote Central Australia. The sale of these works will support Indigenous artists and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Lilla Foundation. The Lilla Foundation works to assist Indigenous Australians in the central desert region.

The event features more than 30 artists' work including prominent artists such as Gloria Petyarre, Barbara Weir, Anna Price Petyarre, Selina Teece Pwerl and many more. There will be over 300 pieces on offer, covering both contemporary and traditional Aboriginal art. There will be lots to choose from, lucky you have three days to view this huge sale, prices range from $60 to $10,000.

With the summer weather finally arriving getting your thumbs green and decorating the garden might be on your mind, you might also be happy with the way your home and garden is looking but are just a huge fan of one of TV's popular shows, an event to give you all the advice you need is the Better Homes and Gardens Live Expo.

The event brings one of Australia’s favourite magazine & TV show to life all under the one roof. Held over 3 days, the event is the perfect mix of inspiration, education, surprises, entertainment and fun.
There will be four presentation stages, covering DIY and Building, Decorating and Craft, or Food and Gardening. You can expect to see presentations from your favourite members of the Better Homes and Gardens team.

New to Better Homes and Gardens Live this year, will be their master classes to give you a chance to learn from the experts and with small class sizes to ensure you get the most out of the experience, there will be gardening master classes, chocolate master classes, jewellery master classes and much more.

An event that will bring lots of mystery is kicking off next Friday the 13th, The Rocks will become a little bit like Alice in Wonderland, you never know what you might see at this years Village Bizarre.

An event that will bring a world of magic, mystery, music and markets all together for over a month. The Rocks Village Bizarre invites you to ‘re-experience’ The Rocks Precinct for a truly mind bending month of immersive performances, culinary delights, two-storey high floating installations, and chance encounters with captivating characters around every corner. Every laneway of The Rocks will unveil a new performance, a new adventure and a new experience.

There will be lots of different activities and entertainment throughout the length of the bizarre such as, No Lights No Lycra which is a dance party held in complete darkness, the lights are kept low so people can shake it all out without worrying about how they look.
There will also be the Vaudevillia, an outdoor lounge bar bringing you an assortment of hilarity and artistry featuring an inflatable host, three-piece band The Vaudevillians, crazy circus performances and physical comedy.
On top of all the bizarre entertainment you can also walk through The Rocks outdoor night markets where you can pick up small treasures and eat some delicious artisan street food.
