For an evening of live, interactive and informative art then for its second time at "107 Projects" there is going to a fun night of art but not as you know it.

Agar Dish is back to bring you on a journey of a collaboration of different disciplines and art forms by incorporating performance, dance, sound art, kinetic sculpture, live art demonstrations, installation, music and interactive works.

Prepare for an evening where art doesn’t sit statically on a wall or plinth but moves around you and with you. Flex your fingers for works that ask to be touched and participated with.

It is where you can find great talent while also being a part of the talent yourself, maybe you have been a part of live performance art before but if you haven't it's sure to be an exciting experience.

Maybe in these cold winter months you have decided to pick up a craft hobby such as knitting or weaving.

If you appreciate handcrafted fabric work then for over a week you have the chance to head along to an exhibition full of hand woven, hand knitted and hand felted scarves, wraps, garments and accessories, plus wall hangings, tapestries, rugs, throws, bead work, costume jewelry, basketry and enamels will be on display.

As part of "Elizabeth Calnan Textiles" "Reflections on Fabric" is where you will see excellence in design, craftsmanship and professional finish on display and meet the artists to be inspired and hear their stories of inspiration, some of the artist are Trudy Billingsley, Heather Calnan, Liz Calnan, Wendy Cartwright, and Marie Clews plus many more.

If you want to relieve the stress from the office or are looking for a different healthy option from hitting the gyn after work, then pop along to "City Mile Dash".

Join hundreds of inner-city workers and CBD runners, all in aid of a great cause. You will be out having fun in a healthy way while also raising funds and awareness for Cancer Council NSW.
The race itself first started in 2011, and this year the 1.6km speed race is the first of its kind to be held at the new "Barangaroo" development.

Interested participants can sign up individually or in teams of four to race along Sydney Harbour. After the race, there will be a tent for racers with food and drink on offer.

All funds raised by the race go towards helping the charity's goal of eradicating cancer via preventative and support services, as well as research to benefit patients and their families.

Here at Eastside Radio we love exploring and playing world music for you, an event that is sure to bring you to the roots and culture of another country's music is the "World Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Music".

After successful festivals in Canada, 2011, and the U.S in 2013, the festival makes its debut in Australia this year. It is to connect the greater Vietnamese diaspora through music and promoting knowledge of Vietnamese traditional music to the wider community, and most of all to share their culture, knowledge, and music, from different corners of the world.

There will be lectures, presentations, workshops and a gala concert with Vietnamese and Western performers. Listen to new ideas, enjoy tradition, and explore.
Some of the many performers on the night are Mr. Phạm Đức Thành (Canada), Ms. Geraldine Balcazar (Australia), Ms. Lê Phương (Sydney, Australia).

At the end of next week it will be the beginning of "National Science Week", running from the 15th to the 23rd August.
Find out the latest changes to the world around us as Sydney will be holding Australia's biggest science festival in the Australian museum.

You can find over 300 interactive workshops, science stage shows, exhibition stalls, roving scientists, live animals, talks and shows happening for the event. welcome to school students, community visitors and industry professionals.

It's not everyday you get the chance to talk to scientists from leading institutions, it is your chance to discover the relevance and role of science within your local community and find out how you can be involved with it all.

If you are a fan of photography or up for some really cool sights, down in Centennial Park there will be "Field of Orbs, a Light painting extravaganza".

It is one of the many events to celebrate 2015 as International year of light, join artist Peter Solness, who will orchestrate members of the public to create some night magic photography. As the sun sets, people will be given light emitting devices to create 101 orbs (spherical shape) all over the grass area, its going to be some pretty cool technology working its magic.

When everyone is in place and spinning their orb, Peter will capture the event which will be projected onto a screen for everyone to see.
Bring your camera along and receive instructions and tips on how to capture the group illumination event yourself.

There is just about a festival for everything out there, and this festival is focused on something that has been around a long time.

Sydney will be having its "Tea Festival" next Sunday and not a better day in the week to sit down and savour a relaxing cup of tea.

It is going to be a celebration of specialty loose leaf tea, where you can wander through the free tea market and discover some of the best artisan teas around.

There’s also going to be workshops hosted by leading specialists where you can participate in tea tasting, learn about tea basics, food pairing, blending or discover more about the history and health benefits of tea.

It's not going to be simply about tea there will be sweet and savoury treats, ceramic artists and makers of beautiful home wares, and food trucks. There’s also the brew lounge where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea and listen to music. A perfect relaxing way to unwind the week.

If you are interested in the lives and future of the urban wildlife that surrounds us then head along to Sydney Olympic Park where there will be a series of short talks on urban ecology that will introduce you to a variety of wildlife that inhabits the park.

Find out about the habitats and tomorrows journey for the birds, micro-bats and mangroves, frogs, native fish and thousands of invertebrate species as Sydney Olympic Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity.

Some of the talks that will be discussed will be birds taking up residence in Sydney, micro-bats at Sydney Olympic Park, and the Parramatta River, our living catchment - fauna and habitat report.

Some of the displays will be on reptiles, frogs and birds, plus live footage, via EagleCAM, of nesting Sea-Eagles will be available.
