Art After Hours at the Art Gallery of NSW
Art After Hours returns to the Art Gallery of New South Wales, with the Gallery open until 9pm every Wednesday night.
Visit exhibitions and our much loved collection, join a tour, enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in the cafe, or grab a ticket for a film screening.
Displays open until 9pm, Gallery Café open until 8.30pm and Gallery Shop open until 8.45pm.
Courtesy bus runs every 15 mins from 6pm until closing from the Gallery to various locations in the city close to public transport.
Art After Hours is supported by Macquarie University and the Art Gallery Society of NSW. Part of Culture Up Late, proudly funded by the NSW Government.

Assertiveness class: How to say no and not feel guilty
Want to learn how to say no (or yes) and not feel bad, guilty or anxious?
Assertive communication can strengthen your relationships, including your relationship with yourself, reducing stress from conflict and providing you with the ability to cope and handle difficult conversations and situations.
Each class, Bishop Laryea, from the City of Sydney leads this class which you can attend as a once-off or attend regularly every week. All participants engage in role-playing exercises to learn the 6 assertive communication tools in the program. The role play exercises revolve around real life situations. This will help you greatly in putting assertiveness into actual practice.

NOX Night Sculpture Walk is on! Randwick Environment Park
NOX, Latin for night, is a night sculpture walk around the Randwick Environment Park. Experience the natural environment like never before as artists from UNSW Art & Design transform the park and wetland into an illuminated outdoor art gallery. For three nights only artworks will be installed around the park to form a leisurely 1.5km loop walk, starting and ending at the Randwick Community Centre.

The National 2021 at the MCA
13 artists consider diverse approaches to the environment, storytelling and inter-generational learning through their works in The National 2021 at the MCA.
Drawing on natural materials and processes, as well as found objects and detritus, they explore notions of planetary caretaking, and our relationship to place in an era of dramatic change.
Unseen physical forces – wind, gases, emissions – power some works, while others transform plant matter, kangaroo teeth, echidna quills and plastic waste into powerful statements. Women’s practice is central to The National 2021 at the MCA, explored through diasporic and familial histories, labour and learning, and wider mythological narratives. Symbiosis in nature, revealed through the co-habitation of diverse creatures (termites, ants, birds and their eggs) in the termite mounds of North-east Arnhem Land is an enduring motif in the exhibition, demonstrating patterns of connection and the balance of all things in the natural world.
The National 2021: New Australian Art at the MCA is curated by Chief Curator Rachel Kent.
