This year marks the 20th anniversary of the ANZAC bridge as well as the centenary of WWI and the ANZAC legend.

Join sculptor Alan Somerville and celebrate this Sydney icon as well as pay your respects to the memory of the ANZAC soldiers.

If you have an interest in this era or simply want to find out more about it all, with Anzac day approaching, then this should be an interesting evening.

The Sydney Antiques and Vintage Fair will feature local and interstate dealers offering a wide range of quality antiques and collectables, there will be items to suit all budgets.

This is a genuine antiques and vintage fair, whether you're an antique expert looking for that certain item that you've been searching for, or your just want to go for a look at some of the quirky fashion statement vintage items on display, then take a trip down. You never know, you might find your new favourite handbag or that table piece you never imagined in your house.

If you're one of the many herbivores out there or you simply don't fancy a plate of meat today and want to experience some new flavours to your taste buds then head down to the vegetarian bazzar right here in the eastern suburbs, where there will be loads of delicious vegetarian meals that are sold only twice a year. Every morsel is made from scratch and uses Australian fresh produce, seasoned with a wide range of spices. For a trip that could open your mind to trying some new dishes or maybe even convert you to a veggie :)

Shakespeare's much loved comedy of mistaken identity, gender bending, disguise and deceit, will be played in the Old Government House Courtyard.

After 5 years of Shakespeare at Wollongong University and the Botanic Gardens, Eaton Gorge Theatre Company bring the play to Parramatta.
Enjoy Shakespeare in the afternoon, or under the stars at night, it depends on what Autumn weather you're up for facing as it is held in an outdoor arena. On the plus side it's close to parking and public transport.
Bring a rug and picnic, and make yourself at home, or else pre-order one of the picnic hampers on offer and save yourself the hassle.

Here at Eastside we are all about local, and keeping you up-to-date on anything happening in the near future in your neighbourhood.
If you're wondering what new developments or changes could be happening soon to your area, or if you want to hear some past stories about parts of the bay. Why not go along to the discovery day where you can explore parts of the Sydney Harbour foreshore not normally accessible to the public. Be captivated by a free program of entertainment running from 10am - 5pm.
The main areas that will be focused on for the day are Blackwattle Bay, Rozelle Bay, Glebe Island, White Bay Power Station, as well as White Bay Cruise Terminal.
There will be a range of activities including live music from the Royal Australian Navy Parade, Jazz and New Orleans bands, an a cappella choir - 'Soulfood', urban landscape photography, action & close-up photography workshops, and a marine and working harbour themed visual art exhibition including painting, sculpture and photographic exhibitions.

When: Sunday 12th of April.

Where: You can attend at any of the discovery sites, the areas which I have mentioned above.

In a time when there are so many stereotypes flying around, and social media judgment is all around us, I could not think of a better question and answers session than this discussion, as the topics that are being talked about are: mental health, education, immigration, gay rights, single parenting, cultural difference and more.

There will be political speakers, teachers, journalists, community workers and the general public giving their say, and there to answer the questions you have for them.

This is a great opportunity if you want to find out more about the strong belief you hold for a certain matter or want to discuss it with like-minded people.

A Trick of the Eye

If you're constantly asking yourself "Imagine if the children of today had to play with the toys I was given as a child".

Or if you're quite questionable about the whole video gaming, tablet-staring culture we now live in, and want to show your children that there are different toys out there, than why not pop along to A Trick of the Eye, and even bring back some memories for yourself with the display of all the toys from a time where batteries didn't need to be included, and early animation was used to trick the eye and gives hours of entertainment without being hooked up to the internet. Also every child gets to make a toy to bring home.
