Snake Snake Snake

Celebrating the depth and range of relationships and artistic exchange between Australia and China, Vietnam and Korea, this extraordinary exhibition features emerging and established artists – those newly arrived in Australia and those with shared Aboriginal and Asian heritage. The eclectic range of work shares themes of heritage, individual journeys, cultural issues and the concept of home, while exploring notions of personal space, identity and globalisation with wonder and wisdom.

Curator Catherine Croll has created new opportunities for dialogue and cultural exchange between participating artists and audiences, with floor talks, demonstrations and forums held throughout the exhibition.

An electronic guide for the exhibition and scheduled events is available HERE. Download the application and then search for ‘Snake’.

Five Suburb Sydney Derive: Architectural Bike Tour

This bike tour explores Sydney tangentially, beginning with the simmering industrial western edge before meandering through the back streets of its most dynamic and rapidly changing suburbs; Ultimo, Chippendale, Redfern and Surry Hills plucking out the most daring and provocative urban and residential projects along the way. This is no touristic join-the-dots. The route and the conversation will be loosely structured around a number of contemporary architectural and urban projects, contested sites and politicized themes.

While our route is as safe and quite as possible, a combination of bicycle paths, pavements, laneways and back streets, you will still need to be a reasonably confident cyclist.

You will enjoy a coffee break along the way.
