ART MONTH SYDNEY
Art Month Sydney is an annual festival that encourages engagement with contemporary art and artists through a culture of gallery visitation, fostering pathways for the next generation of collectors and facilitating access to artists and their stories. Barkley has themed Art Month 2015 Where Art Happens. The festival will focus on the relationship between artists, their creative processes and the galleries that support them.

Notes: Over one hundred galleries in and around Sydney will throw open their doors, inviting you into their spaces to get to know artists and hear their stories.

REDFERN NIGHT MARKETS
With the support from Sydney City Council, we are excited to be able to offer market goers great food choices, outdoor theatre style entertainment, large cross section of goodies from a diverse range of stallholders exhibiting their goods indoors and outdoors.
The night market offer’s you live music and stalls from local makers and creators and delicious food from Sydney Food Trucks and food vendors.

CREATIVE PADDINGTON: SHOWCASING ART, FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY
The Australian Centre for Photography [ACP], Metro Screen and UNSW Art & Design [previously COFA] have programmed a full day of activities to expose and celebrate a 40-year segment of the creative history of Paddington, and showcase the current work being produced.

AFRICAN/AUSTRALIANS - LOUISE WHELAN
Louise Whelan’s new series ‘African / Australians’ documents newly settled African communities in Australia from Sudan, South Sudan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, Burundi, Liberia, Senegal, Ghana and Rwanda. Photographed over eleven years across New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland Louise captures the vibrant energy of African colour palettes and patterns with Australian suburbia and landscape. Confident with colour, style and stance, subjects pose proudly identifying with both African and Australian culture.
